Christians in Cary, NC, came together and washed the feet of black protesters and faith leaders.
A Pastor, Soboma Wokoma, and his wife Dr. Faith Wokoma of Legacy Center Churh held the event last Saturday where people of faith and community leaders washed the feet of African-Americans protesting the killing and racial injustice.
When George Floyd was killed, Shara and Daniel Chalmers of Love Wins Ministry were preaching in Ashville according to CBN News.
Shara said God had given her the vision that would unite the nation.
“I was distraught and kept having visions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the unity walk that he did, linking arms, brother to brother as they sang in the streets of Washington, DC, ‘We Shall Overcome,’” She told CBN News.
“The Lord said, ‘I want a unity walk but I want you to call Dr. Faith Wokoma.”
“We really need to have action now, not just prayer,” Shara Chalmers said. “It was an incredible movement of unity and there was such a presence of Jesus.”
In another related news, George Floyd’s body was laid to rest yesterday in his Houston, Texas homeland.
His coffin was taken to the Houston Memorial Gardens where he was buried beside his mother.
Floyd’s death in police custody last month sparked historic anti-racism protests and Global outrage.
