So something happened recently when I was in the living room, having a cool time of leisure when I heard something flapping outside.
I asked what that was and my brother told me one of the fish had escaped its habitat for the second time. We had a couple of living fish in a big bowl which we left outside.
It was a surprise to me how the fish had strayed again and I wondered if it was curiosity that made it leave its habitat or being overexcited.
The first time, it survived living outside its natural habitat, my brother restored it fast. The second time, it wasn’t as lucky as the first. My brother got there, restored it the second time but it was already too late. A few minutes later, it died.
However, something struck my mind. The moment we stray away from a spiritual connection with God, we move away from our natural habitat.
Leaving the habitat or circumference of God’s dealings and protection will only work death.
You might have been lucky and have left His habitat for a few weeks, few months, maybe years and nothing seems so wrong.
What you don’t know is the devil is a master of deceit. It might look like you have everything, but deep down, emptiness is all that’s left.
Just like my brother restored the fish, God wants to restore you, even today. Just like the Prodigal son came back home and was gladly received by his father, God wants to receive us back into his loving arms.
God is still calling on men like he did in the Garden, ‘Where art thou?’
The fish probably danced around for a little while thinking it could survive, but as minutes passed, death began its protocol and even after it was restored, it didn’t have a lot to offer.
Don’t wait till you’re so old and you have little to offer. Come now, stay in the habitat now, blossom in God and grow in His might! Remember, stay in His habitat!
