The latest movie by the Mount Zion Faith Ministry (MZFM), THE TRAIN is the story of Mike Abayomi Bamiloye (MAB), the founder of the great ministry which span from 1964-1993. It’s the number one trending on YouTube with over half a million views, awesome. Isn’t it?
I joined the train of people to watch THE TRAIN movie. There was no regret of any sort although at first I was considering not watching with my data but alas I did and I’m glad I did. It was worth my time and data.

Who would have thought that the young boy that steals and fight ‘Tanchinqua’ and ‘konfu’ will stand to preach the gospel through drama?Mike Bamiloye young and now
Who would have thought that the man who people said his skin colour looks more like the colour of his suit because he has worn it over and over will have countless number of them.
Trust me, no one could have imagined that the man who was rejected by many sisters will get married to a godly, beautiful and supportive woman as wife.
Leaving his teaching job to start a full time drama ministry with nothing looked insane to people around. No one knew he would one day have a movie titled ‘The Train’ that will reveal the story of his journey of faith.
Journey with me on this train people, you’ll get the best of the movie. Mike Abayomi Bamiloye at the age of four lost his mother and he was left in the care of his sister, at this young age he obviously had no idea of what had happened. He was just a young innocent child. His sister also at a time had to leave for Teachers College.
You might want to imagine how Abayomi felt then, yes, your imagination is right. He cried and couldn’t believe he will have to live with Iya Eleni, she took care of him but he had the habit of stealing.
There was a day Abayomi cried all through the day and when he was asked for what he wanted, it was disheartening. He said he wanted ‘bloblo’ balloon, like what? For me it was a terrible heartbreak, you know?
Abayomi’s sister moved him from several places which made him have his primary school education in several places, I’ll say it was a bid to get the best for him. He was moved to Lagos at a time and then back to Ilesha where he eventually encountered Christ. That was the turning point in his life, God began to give meaning to his seeming meaningless life.
At a point he was almost turning back but God called him, some of the fellowship members visited and he also had a serious fire incident in the kitchen. MAB believed he was nobody but his sister told him he’ll get to his destined destination. She also made a pronouncement which was an affirmation to what he said that he will one day appear on the Television, although Mike did not believe her and said he was joking.
Abayomi at the time of trying to get into the higher institution, got two admission letter and went to his preferred choice which was Adeyemi College of Education but God directed him to Oyo State College of Education where he had to go because he knew the importance of obeying God.
It looked insane to people, but it was sane in the eyes of God. He gave himself to God’s service at the Christian Union and was lost in his service. It looked like he was not going to get married due to several turn down by many sisters. He had this friend who will always say ‘Bro Mike does not have chemistry but ministry’.
This was based on his style of proposing and his zeal for the things of the Kingdom. Bro Mike eventually proposed to Sister Sola who he gave the name Sis Gloria, amazingly, they still call each other by their names till date.
His Pastor’s counsel not to start the Drama ministry fell on deaf ears, he followed his Lord blindly. He left his teaching job to be a full time drama minister. He had nothing and his elder sister tried talking him out of the decision but he was bent on following the Lord.

His wife Gloria Bamiloye, a woman of great faith and godly character followed Him too as Bro Mike led the journey.
Truly, it was a journey of faith, a journey that showed to us that the only trip you’ll embark on blindly and you’ll land safely is a trip with Jesus as the Pilot.
It is very imperative that we note the importance of making positive pronouncement on people. Abayomi’s mother said her son will be great, his sister stamped a positive pronouncement too.
The point he was crying for balloon, shows how much we Christian seek for the irrelevance although at that time he was not a Christian. There is the need for follow up and check up by fellow believers, although bro Mike was not receptive when his friends came but I want to believe a seed was sown.
Things might not make sense to us and people around at some point in our lives but we keep on trusting our Father.
Also, the journey of our life is in God and we should seek for revelation per time.
The need for discovering our ‘why.’ cannot be over emphasized in the journey of life, as it will help us in choosing the right partner for the journey.
Above all, have Christ.I love to hear your views too. You can add a comment of your own personal lessons from the movie in the comment box below.
Thanks.
