In early 1990s, Reinhard Bonnke was blacklisted from coming to Nigeria because of the massacre of Christians by religious fanatics when he came to Kano State.
So, the then Head of State barred him from coming to Nigeria again. He sought all means to come to Nigeria, for the next 9 to 10 years but all was abortive.
However, things took a new and better turn when the then President Olusegun Obasanjo came into power in 1999.
Bonnke decided to preach in Benin Republic which was a neigbouring country to NIgeria.
Reinhard preached to the President of Benin Republic who got saved and requested to join Bonnke’s Ministry, but Reinhard Bonnke denied him stating that God had called the President to serve Him in the capacity of being a President.
Reinhard told the President he heard that he, the President of Benin was a good friend of the President of Nigeria, which the Beninoise President affirmed to.
He then requested that the President of Benin Republic should speak with the Nigerian President to give him a Visa to come to Nigeria. Of course, the President did.
Same week, the Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, sent his own private jet to pick Reinhard Bonnke from Nigeria without a Visa, and Reinhard Bonnke landed in Abuja free of Charge!
When Reinhard returned, he organized the new millenium crusade in Lagos in year 2000. He asked God for a restoration of the past 10 years which he was blacklisted from Nigeria.

The Lagos crusade in year 2000 became, Reinhard Bonnke’s most populous crusade in which 6 million people attended in 4 nights and 3.5 million people got saved at the end of 4 nights.
